“Over the years, Americans in particular have been all too willing to squander their hard-earned independence and freedom for the illusion of feeling safe under someone else’s authority. The concept of self-sufficiency has been undermined in value over a scant few generations. The vast majority of the population seems to look down their noses upon self-reliance as some quaint dusty relic, entertained only by the hyperparanoid or those hopelessly incapable of fitting into mainstream society.”

― Cody Lundin, When All Hell Breaks Loose: Stuff You Need To Survive When Disaster Strikes

The future is always uncertain but one thing is sure, being prepared today for what may happen tomorrow is the best way to ensure the safety and security of you and your family. Just like we save money to ensure our future financial stability or hold insurance plans for our homes and cars it is prudent to create a survival plan to prepare for the uncertainty of the future.

Why Survivalism you ask? Good question. The answer is simple: because today’s society is more susceptible to devastating catastrophic events then we have been throughout the past. US economics are plagued with record levels of spending and debt that future generations are unlikely to be able to pay back, in part due to our aging population and therefore diminishing tax base. Our dependence on fossil fuels, particularly foreign oil, leaves us vulnerable to a complete lack of energy, not to mention a virtually complete dependency on foreign nations. As a world super power the USA will continue to face threats and challenges from other rising powers as well as rogue terrorist organizations. While not particularly new to the world, these threats and dangers are compounded by our ever-increasing reliance on complex technologies. As a nation we’ve forgotten how to subsist in a self-reliant manner; if and when our technologically reliant infrastructure undergoes a systematic failure due to any type of natural or manmade disaster we must be able to fall back upon traditional self-sufficient living.

We believe that good survivalist websites aim to educate and that’s why our prepper blog focuses on information. There are a million survival blogs and prepper websites out there that aim to spread propaganda and frighten people. The goal of our survival blog is to spread awareness of current events and potential threats and to disseminate useful information about surviving a disaster and self-sufficient living. Our survivalist resources cover topics from survival foods, kits, and supplies to back-to-basics living techniques and just about everything in between.

By bringing together survivalists and preppers from all walks of life, our survival blog creates a community where information and experiences can be shared.
